Transport Canada's new Fishing Vessel Safety Regulations for small commercial fishing vessels (NOT sport/charter vessels) are now in force (effective July 13, 2017). (Find the full regulations by clicking here.)
These regulations are for commercial fishing vessels not more than 24.4 m in length and not more than 150 gross tonnage. Safety procedures, emergency drills and safety equipment are a few of the main areas addressed in these new regulations.
