Fish Safe is pleased to announce that we will be presenting at the fourth annual BC Young Fishermen’s Gathering being held in Nanaimo, January 23 & 24, 2020.

The YFG is an ideal venue that supports fish harvesters early in their careers by providing an opportunity to build skills and make connections across the fishing industry.  It provides a valuable opportunity for young fishermen to advance their business, policy, and leadership skills in workshops with industry professionals and to network with peers from across the coast.

Fish Safe’s presentation will introduce a new smartphone app customized specifically for fishermen that provides skippers with an easy and effective tool to train new fishermen to work safely on board a fishing vessel.  The importance of crew training, both from a regulatory and common sense perspective, will be discussed and a demonstration of the new app will be provided.
